Now that Summer is finally here (apparently…), we think it’s best to start planning how we’ll be spending our weekends. There’s loads going on in Liverpool over the next couple of months so you’ll no doubt find plenty of things to keep you going.
We’ve pulled together a list of what we think will be some of the highlights of the summer so that you have plenty to choose from.
Pier head mini village
When? Now – 10th September
Where? Pier head
What? Amusement village
The Pier Head Village is an exciting group of attractions including rides, bars, markets and food stands located at the Pier head. Open 11-11 on weekends (11-7 midweek) and staying put until mid September, it’s definitely worth adding this to you itinerary during the summer.
Just a stones throw away from James Street station and the Albert Dock, the mini village is a great way of keeping kids and adults entertained with it’s great selection of high intensity carnival rides and it’s unique choice of bars, eateries and individual features such as an art fair and food market.
British Style Collective 2017
When? 7th-9th July
Where? St George’s Hall (and various places throughout the city)
What? Event celebrating all things fashion
“Fashion, beauty, music, dance celebrities and experts all featured around the cities’ most iconic buildings.”
A celebration dedicated to all things fashion. And where better to do it that the home of the Scouse Bird, Liverpool. If you walk through Liverpool One on a Saturday and don’t see some girls with their curlers in, are you really in Liverpool?
This year, the British Style Collective have set up base across the city in some of the greatest landmarks and will be giving guests a sneak peak at the seasons must haves. With hosts of celebrities getting involved, as well as out very own Scouse Bird, Steph, guests will be able to watch celeb interviews, catwalk shows, design/makeup tutorials and a whole host of other exciting events over the weekend.
Remember that this is a ticketed event so you will need to pre-book before heading down to any of the venues.
Liverpool International Music Festival
When? 20th – 23rd July
Where? Sefton Park
What? Weekend dedicated to music with some top artists performing
Starting things off on Thursday 20th until Sunday 23rd July, the impressive LIMF Presents events, which take place in the unique surroundings of the Sefton Park Palm House. The hugely popular LIMF Summer Jam festival is open to all from Friday 21st until Sunday 23rd July and will welcome artists, creatives and music lovers from around the world to perform in the stunning splendour of Sefton Park.
The Scouse Diaries Presents: Pulp Fiction
When? Sunday 23rd July
Where? Hus Roof Terrace, Tithebarn St
What? Rooftop cinema
A pop up cinema with a twist. On the 23rd July, The Scouse Diaries will be showing the cult classic Pulp Fiction on the roof terrace of Hus. Guests will be able to sit back, relax and take in the incredible views as they settle down to watch the classic Tarantino film whilst enjoying some great food and drink.

When? 5th August
Where? Playground Nightclub, Liverpool One
What? Brazilian themed evening celebrating the culture, music and tastes of Brazil
On the 5th August, Unlock Liverpool are hosting the cities biggest Brazilian Carnival and you’re all invited! It’s set to be an explosive night with lots of dancing, lots of singing, lots of exciting drinks and of course, lots of skin! The event will be taking place at Hangar 34 in the Baltic Triangle and will offer guests the chance to experience what it’s really like to party in Brazil, the home of the samba!

Liverpool food festival
When? 16th & 17th September

What? Food and drink market
Its time to dig out your fat pants and head to Sefton Park to take part in the Liverpool Food Festival which is celebrating it’s 10th year and promises to be bigger and better than ever. If you went to the taster festival earlier on in the year, you’ll understand why we are SO excited about this.
The festival offers something for everyone and is a great place for friends, families and couples of all ages to spend the weekend simply because of what is on offer. It’s not just food and drink! There’ll be gin gardens, coffee fests, music and even Simon Rimmer will be making an appearance! What more could you ask for, eh?
