The presents have all been unwrapped, the crackers pulled and the Christmas food devoured. Yet there’s still days to go before New Year’s Eve. Welcome to the festive no man’s land – that week between Christmas and new year when no one is quite sure what day it is.

For those who are not yet back to work, those languid few days can be a blissful period of limbo with nothing to do except eat, drink and snooze on the sofa – although, after a while, the urge to do something other than watch another Christmas movie and eat yet more food can start to kick in.

So here are our suggestions of things to do once Christmas is over but new year has yet to arrive.

Carden Park are offering an Activity Break this ‘Twixmas’ for two adults to enjoy a night’s stay with breakfast and a day of adventure. The choice of adrenaline testing activities includes Archery and Rifling, Quad bikes, Segway’s or Kong Aerial Ropes course.

Visitors can enjoy one to one tuition on how to use traditional longbows and 22 air rifles followed by a head to head competition with their partner or face knee shaking obstacles on the Kong rope course.

The activity break is ideal to escape the re-runs of Christmas television and from £156* for two adults it is the perfect way to spend any money Father Christmas brought you.

Also, to be enjoyed at Carden Park, is the AA Rosette winning Redmond’s Restaurant with dishes designed by Executive Head Chef, Graham Tinsley. An orangery, to soak in the winter sun and onsite spa with an array of relaxing treatments
